An excellent debut!!

Cam Flaherty is a protagonist that is easy to identify with. She has come back to Westbury to take over the farm where she spent so many summers growing up. Just when her ideas starts to bear fruit a man is murdered.

Maxwell has surrounded Cam with more than a few suspects and friends that keep her strong as she fights to clear her name. These characters are really well fleshed out for the first book in a series. We learn a lot about their backgrounds which always makes the reader invested in their lives and the story. It also makes the book extremely hard to put down.

With issues like a local militia, some residents with immigration problems, and the localore way of eating many Westbury area residents are adapting makes this a very interesting story in addition to a well plotted mystery.

Edith Maxwell has firmly planted a great foundation for what I know is going to be a very tasty series!

First book in a new cozy mystery series. A young computer whiz moves to a family farm to start an organic food business. As she's learning the ropes and getting her business up and running, she stumbles across a dead body in one of her greenhouses and all fingers point to a friend. Good story line and characters that are developing well. Looking forward to the next installment.

Enjoyed this first book in the series and look forward to reading the next. Really liked that the story centers around the very current topics of organic farming, the locavore movement, CSAs, as well as controversial issues surrounding immigration. This is a light, cozy mystery that will appeal to those who dream of a simpler life of fresh air, fresh food, good friends, a touch of romance, and mysteries to unravel.

Cam Flaherty takes over her uncle's farm making it organic with no chemicals used at all on her produce. She fires her employee who refused to abide by her organic farming policies. Later he is found murdered with a pitch fork through his neck. The locavore club has interesting characters adding to the suspects surrounding the murder mystery. Cam is very likable and easy to relate to. Found all the organic farming info to be interesting and the murder mystery takes a twist in the end. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Very good mystery, good 1st book in this series. Easy read, but interesting also, all about food grown without chemicals. Very hard work and interesting information for those interested in this type of growing medium.
Lots to learn and fun to meet the characters.
