The mousedom of this book is so much like humanity you forget they are mice. A normal, quiet mouse guy undergoes some hair-raising adventures.

Very fast paced, funny and intriguing. Hermux Tantamoq is a character I would like to see more of. This book is good for children ages 12 and up. A bit too involved for younger readers, but still a wonderful and inventive story.

If you like fantasy then you'll probably enjoy this book. The characters are mice, moles, beavers, etc. who lead lives repairing watches, flying airplanes and developing beauty lotions. It's an adorable adventure for fantasy lovers.

This is one heck-of-a story.
Watchmaker Hermux Tantamoq is a hardworking mouse who is thanful for ordinary things - donuts, coffee, peaceful evenings at home with his pet ladybug. But his quiet life takes a tramatic turn when Ms Linka Perflinger, dashing daredevil aviatrix and adventuress, bursts into his watch shop, drops off a broken watch, and steals his heart.
Hermux can't wait to see Ms. Perflinger again, but she doesn't return. Instead, a shady-looking rat comes in and demands her watch. Fearing something is amiss, Hermux follows the rat, and soon finds himself in the middle os a dangerous web of deception and intrigue.
Hermux's life is suddenly full of twists and turns and is anything but ordinary. He must be daring, he must be vigilant. And he doesn't know how. But as sure as corn is sweet and cheese goes moldy in the rain, Hermux must rescue Ms. Perflinger and, in the process, find out just what kind of mouse he really is.
You'll love it - mystery! adventure! rescue! abduction! deceit! intrigue! and all with mouses, rats ladybugs - it's fantastic!

This is one of those kid's books that adults can enjoy. All age groups will get something out of the story. For me, it harkened back to reading "The Mouse and the Motorcycle".
The writing style is very much like the Jasper Fforde novels.

i found that i loved this book. great adventure
I found the 2nd book at a discount store and it sounded like a fun read. But wanted the first one so that I could become acquainted with the characters and found it at the Swap. These books are aimed at children but I found them delightful, charming and well written. The chapters are short so if you are reading this to a youngster or just want to grab a short section of reading before retiring, this book allows you to take a small slice of the literary pie. I find the characters likeable, the story lines interesting from a mouse's perspective, and has some very light heart dialogue. I am now ready for the 3rd book. Michael Hoeye has a good sense of humor and this comes across in his creations. I do hope there will be more adventures in the future.
