A Canadian reporter moves to Paris, settling to live at Shakespeare & Co. bookstore, a place where hundreds of wanna-be authors and poets would write. George, the bookstore manager, takes in anyone who needed a place to live, and also loved to read books, or write. Jeremy, the crime reporter, writes of his living experience and shares stories of the many people who happened upon Shakespeare & Co. A very enjoyable read.

A strange and gripping memoir, elegantly written.
