The Tightwad Gazette books are about teaching you how to fish. As a single woman who does not have any children, there are quite a few recommendations in this book that are not applicable to me. However, because the author details the process of how she determines the cheaper solution and shows her calculations, I can apply her thought processes to my specific situation.
The essays are informative and inspiring.
The book has a couple of pages in the book on how to save money quilting. Since quilting is my favorite hobby, that was my favorite part of the book.

What a hoot! This book was copyrighted a dozen years ago and some of the cost-cutting notions are still viable! I mean, how can you go wrong with "Homemade Goo, Where to Get Something for Nothing, Whoopie Pies, and What to do with Old Blue Jeans." Come on, people. You need this book. Tightwads Unite!

I liked this book, though it wasnt as great as the first one. still some neat tips and tricks.
Great book. A lot of "oh so simple" ideas. This is a great book if you want to start at the basics on saving money and going green.
