"THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME SOON..." When quiet and shy Amelia Jones reads these words, her life changes. She just became the new owner of the Ebbtide Shop, a musty antique shop, filled with merry-go-round horses and hurdy-gurdies. It is while fixing one of these barrel organs that the scrawled and threating note falls out. Armed with only a strange woman's first name and the note written years before, Amelia begins ajourney into the past, where nothing is the way it seems, where fear is second nature and where dark secrets just might uncover murder-her own...

Well written, with good plot twists. Characters well rounded. Typical Dorothy Gilman.

This is quite different from the Mrs. Pollifax series but a good suspense novel in its own right.

This book is good but not one of Gilman's best. I've read most of her books and love them. In this one a shy young girl finds a message and thus begins her dangerous adventure of discovery.
Good Read.

This mystery was full of suspense with some romance and a lot of character development thrown in. As usual Dorothy Gilman's books are hard to put down once you start reading them.
