I loved this book! The author was able to see the side of the people and the tiger equally. I especially enjoyed the description of the land, the people and the politics of the area and the events which led up to the situation of those involved.

This is an amazing, riveting true story, with a fascinating look at Siberia, the people and the tigers. One of the most interesting reads for me in the last few years.

It has a couple of maps on one page in the front, which already makes it better than a lot of nonfiction books, however, it's next to impossible to know exactly where the area of detail is compared to the regional map.

Much more then a story about a tiger, that would of been enough. It really explores the world of the hunters and the hunted on both sides!

A really interesting book on many subjects. I originally bought this book to learn about the behavior of the Siberian Tiger, an endangered species. Along with the natural history of the tiger I learned how native people of this area had co-existed with the tiger. How more modern people tried to live with the tiger (not always succesfully) and about how the fall of the Soviet Union affected everything.

This was a most fascinating story about an Amur (Siberian) tiger in the far east of Russia. Much more than just a story about a tiger "deciding" to go rogue and killing people, it also gives insight into the lives of the hunters and people living in this area and how they coexisted with tigers for a very long time. How the tigers and they developed a mutual understanding, almost a psychic link.

I read this book in three days, it is very well written. One of the best books I've read.

The documentary, (Conflict Tiger), by Sasha Snow brings the book to life.
