This is a lovely book in the typical Polacco tradition. It follows the relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter as they hurry to make a "thunder cake" before the storm hits - the grandmother proving to the girl that she really *isn't* afraid of thunder after all! Included in the back is a recipe for thunder cake, which in itself is a surprise (look at the ingredients!). Quite a fun book.
