An excellent Sean Dillon story. Its about German U-boats and something called the Windsor Protocol signed by the Duke of Windsor. Get it and read about it, you will not be sorry.
When one of Hitler's leader's ships is found in 1992 at the bottom of the ocean, evidence rests there listing the names of Nazi sympathizers, including high-level US and British citizens, possibly theDuke of Windsor himself!
1945: The day before Hitler commits suicide, he arranges for Nazi leader Martin Bormann to flee to South America in a German U-boat.
1992: Terrorist Sean Dillon is saved from a Yugoslavian firing squad--if he agrees to help the British government retrieve the long-lost documents of Martin Bormann. The wreck of Bormann's U-boat has been discovered in the Caribbean, along with a secret list of Nazi sympathizers. The names include high-level citizens from the U.S. and Great ?Britain-and may implicate the Duke of Windsor himself. The evidence lies in a water-tight case on the bottom of the sea. And the desperate search to find it will send shockwaves across the world . . .

Dramatic, authentic, one of his best.
Excellent find! Keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Fast paced escaped Nazi war criminal pursuit thriller.
A suprise to me at how good it was. Read it in three nights.
This is abridged, on two cassettes.
As you can see, after "Cold Harbour", I went on to listen to this one too. Seems like I get on a particular "Author", and get everything I can listen to! OK - this little gem was well worth the listen! Put yourself back in the 60's frame of mind! Let's see what this book gives us - start with a sunken German U-Boat, a lush tropical location (the Virgin Islands), sharks (the swimming kind and the walking kind), seaplanes, exploding yachts, villains, henchmen, and (for the ladies) a love interest. What more could you ask for? The main premise of this tale revolves around once IRA guman, Sean Dillon who has been persuaded to work for the British Government and rescue sensitive documents from a sunken U-Boat. Bad Boy turns Good! Hey, release reality, stop looking for verifiable facts - this is the stuff of Cotton Candy - you can't explain how it's made, you just know you like it! So, sit back and put the headphones on and - Like it!
Jack Higgins is the best.Sean Dillon can out Bond old James himself.High Adventure, believable characters from an era that is gone forever.
In this thrilling tale that combines World War II espionage with contemporary politics, Higgins proposes that Nazi lieutenant Martin Bormann escaped Allied forces in 1945 and made his way in a U-boat to South America, along with a notebook listing U.S. and British Nazi sympathizers. One of the names in the notebook happens to be the Duke of Windsor. In 1992, a diver in the Caribbean finds the wreck of the vessel, and word gets back to the British authorities that the notebook is still onboard. Irish terrorist Sean Dillon is recruited to retrieve the item, but he's not the only one interested: a notorious drug dealer with Parliamentary connections is also in on the hunt. The involving story unfolds rapidly across two continents as the rivals race to secure the momentous prize. Helped immeasurably by Dillon's fascinating character and a stylish performance by Roger Moore, the tension builds to an enthralling climax
Great book.
Another great take on the history of WWII.
I loved it, I just started reading Jack Higgins. He is now one of my new authors.
