This is a quick and easy read. The details are good and believable in the story. The plot about people who can channel some souls and not others for testimony is really interesting and different. I was a thrown by the ending. I didn't see it coming at all. Normally I can tell from a mile away. So that was fun for me!
If you like paranormal thrillers this is definitely worth the read.

Good story and beginning to a series! I don't want to give too much of the plot away beyond the description above, so I'll just say that this is a fast and easy read which I definitely recommend to anyone who likes thrillers or stories about the paranormal. Stephen Woodworth writes very well, and I especially love the way he describes things. Umbrellas don't just open, they mushroom. A woman has lovely soymilk skin. Woodworth paints quick, interesting pictures that enhance the narrative without bogging it down.
I'm surprised more people weren't interested in seeing the Violets disappear -- just about anyone with a secret to keep might see Violets as potentially problematic. There are at least three more books to follow this one however, so maybe that will come up more later....

Awesome book. Kind of reminded me of the Tom Cruise movie where they can see the future using people. Kept me engrossed the whole time reading it, and I could barely put it down at night when I went to bed. Looking forward to reading another novel from Stephen Woodworth.

Good, original story. First in series. You get more out of the books if read in order.
An excellent entertaining book that makes you think about what
happens to you right after you die. What IF someone could call
you back to tell on your killer? Fast easy read that is hard to
put down. I highly recommend this book.

Awesome suspense novel about people who can see through a killer's eyes to bring them to justice, but what happens when the killer targets those who can see him???
"The Violets are people who can communicate with the dead and let their spirits inhabit their bodies. They are allowed to testify in court with the dead spirit inside them accusing the perpetrator of murder. A SoulScan is an instrument that shows the Violet being possessed by the spirit that the Violet called using a touchstone. Not many Violets are born in each generation so the government of each country puts them under their "protection". In the United States, the North American Afterlife Communication Corps is the umbrella organization of the Violets and those people who don't choose to join them are harassed, their lives are made miserable by a bureaucracy that wants to keep a tight reign on them.
Someone is killing the Violets and the government officials have no clue who is doing it as they leave no evidence behind. FBI agent Dan Atwater is assigned to protect Violet Natalie Lindstrom who attended the same school as the victims. Dan is afraid of what Natalie can do because she can contact a ghost from his past, one he wants to avoid at all costs. Gradually the barriers between them are breached and the unlikely duo fall in love, but there is no guarantee that they will live long enough to celebrate their deep feelings.
THROUGH VIOLET EYES is not a religious thriller because the premise of the Violets is based on scientific fact. This work reads like a fabulous urban fantasy in which spirits inhabit the bodies of the Violets as a last way to hang onto life. The fantasy element is very strong and Stephen Woodworth's work is nothing short of remarkable.

I liked this story; it had plenty of suspense and mystery. The ending was a surprise, and a sad one and a mircle at the end.

Great thriller. Plenty of suspense.
Good book. Will definitely read the next one in the series.
I loved this book. It was very addictive. Very well written.
Shades of Minority Report and The Eyes of Laura Mars color Woodworth's chilling debut novel, which is set in an alternate present-day setting where a small percentage of people are born with violet irises and the ability to channel the dead.

Awesome. Kept me guessing!
1st in series - great
the violets can connect with the dead to help resolve issues/especially murders

Much better read than I thought it would be. The ending is a bit convoluted but a good plot that holds together
A bit contrived in terms of the actual mystery (and the people fly around the country too much), but the concept of the Violets is really very cool and makes the book worth the read.
Set in an alternate present-day setting where a small percentage of people are born with violet irises and the ability to channel the dead. Naturally, the government has stepped in and regulated their lives, using them as tools in murder trials; an early scene in which a judge instructs the jury how to "weigh the testimony of the deceased" nicely sets the book's tone. When it becomes clear that a serial killer is targeting the Violets themselves, FBI agent Dan Atwater is paired with Natalie Lindstrom, a Violet, to investigate. There are a fixed number of suspects from the beginning, but since the deceased can inhabit the bodies of Violets, none of the players ever exit the story, even when they are killed. Moments after dying, the victims take over Natalie's consciousness, bringing their tale of the Faceless Man who killed them and their suspicion that he may be working with someone on the other side.
This twist makes for a tantalizing puzzle rife with red herrings, one made all the more entertaining by brisk pacing and strong internal logic.
A suspenseful, tightly written novel.

The police call them The Violets...They have a special gift that is crime-fighting's secret weapon...
Through their violet eyes, they can actually expose the face of a murderer.
But now one killer is closing their violet eyes - permanently - and even the FBI can't stop him.

WOW! What a great book! A suspenseful mystery that also throws in some supernatural/ghosts and romance all with a little sci-fi feel. This author has agreat imagination and writes his characters beautifully. A definite must-read!
Good thriller.
Interesting story involving people who can commune with the dead, oh, and they all have violet eyes :)
I enjoyed this book. The whole idea of Violets and the ability to have a dead person's soul inhabit a body is thought provoking. I like the storyline and look forward to reading more of the books written by this author.
I enjoyed this thriller. It literaaly took me ill the last of the book to figure out who the bad guy was. A good read

I loved this book, could not put it down!
Quick paced captivating story...couldn't put it down.
a very twisted sci-fi mystery as the reader follows along tracking a killer of the only people who can see them doing it...a genetic mutation causes those born with violet eyes to act as a direct connection to the dead.
Good book. Lots of suspense.
I really liked this book and it was a great first book for Stephen Woodworth. The story was good, the concept was good, but somewhat predictable in certain portions. Pretty good read overall.
I found this to be really good--I love paranormal, suspense and mystery all rolled into one........
Woodworth is a new-to-me author and I will definitely be looking for more! Interesting and different concept for the paranormal mystery/thriller. I really enjoyed it.
A good book. Never was sure if I was reading sci-fi or crime. It didn't take long for me to believe that it's real!
