This book was unlike anything I've ever read. Very imaginative story, some unexpected twists and characters (communicating with the dead opens a whole lists of possibilities). It was fascinating to read, with some light humor, but overall some gruesome details, as well. I really loved it, but it is also a bit disturbing. I had never read this author and thanks to a PBS member sending the 2nd book in this series (With Red Hands), as well, I had it to read immediately after, or I would have been upset to be left disturbed at the end of this one alone.
