I enjoyed this one even more than the first in the series! All the red herrings keep you guessing until the very end. I must have changed my mind about who did it 4 or 5 times! I liked the new love interest and the discussion of online and speed dating. As with the first one though, there was a bit too much about coffee. Every character seemed to have their own personal favorite bean and talk about it! Still, I did like this one so much that I started Latte Trouble, the 3rd in the series immediately after finishing this one!

I wish I had read the first one first -- but this is such a delightful series, and I'm so glad I discovered it. It does have an unexpected twist in it that made me sad. My only quibble is that people just do NOT talk about coffee quite THIS much in everyday conversation. Maybe in her coffeehouse, yes. But a suspect (who happened to have killed his wife and her lover when he was younger; not a spoiler) rave about the quality of certain beans for no good reason (the conversation was in his artist's studio) was just annoying (and, I admit, made me laugh when I don't think I was supposed to). Loved the recipes, though!

2nd in a series of very well written mysteries.
Ms. Coyle writes books that don't treat us like we are on a 6th grade level. She throws in some very interesting details on the history of the different items she uses as backdrops in her stories yet she keeps it light enough to still be the"cozy" books that so many of us love so well.
This one has enough twists, turns, and red herrings to keep the book interesting right up untill the end...which by the way is totally unexpected.
I have the next two in the series and I will be posting them soon.

Fun murder mystery series with a coffee theme. Perfect book when you want something that grabs your attention. It even has coffee recipes and techniques.

I actually liked this one better than the first. Except for her over use of "as" and "like". The female customers of the Village Blend are being murdered and Clare and Matteo set out to find the killer even though Quinn is convinced that it is the new boyfriend - the very desirable Bruce Bowman.

I really enjoy this series; great chemistry with Clare, her ex and Detective Quinn; wish there was a bit less "coffee talk," as I think it distracts from (or at least doesn't add to) the mystery. Keep the coffee in the coffeehouse!

This was the first one I read in the series, and I didn't like it. I was expecting a cozy, and this came off much harder, and less lighthearted.

Although I found this particular book a little darker than your usual cozy mystery, it was a great book, and, like another reviewer, I enjoyed the addition of a second love interest.

I did guess the killer before the end, but not the additional twist to the plot.

Well-written (even for those of us who are not coffee drinkers) !

I really enjoyed this book - more than I thought I would. I read the first book and it kept me guessing until the end and so did this one. A good, fun (if you can call a murder mystery fun) read.
I will read more of this series and I even learned something about coffee!

I enjoyed this book and the main character. It kept me guessing to the end, although I was suspicious of several of the characters. The romance is nicely done and I'll admit I cried quite a bit towards the end. As a coffee lover myself, I also enjoyed all the coffee lore sprinkled throughout.

This is a quick read - a cozy mystery - and well worth sitting down with your favorite cup of coffee, while you dscover the latest happenings in the Village Blend.

Second in the Coffee House Mysteries - Clare is back trying once again to solve another mysterious death - or should I say 3 deaths? Matteo - her ex-husband is her accomplice. Detective Quinn enters the picture as does Clares daughter Joy. The immergence of Bruce Bowman - the new man in Clares life - brings many many question with him.

In this book Clare realizes that some recent suicides are somehow linked to the Village Blend. She decides to investigate and thinks it has something to do with a single group that meets there. With her daughter, Joy, deciding to join the singles group, Clare does as well, in order to screen men that might want to date Joy. And to follow up on the leads. In doing so she meets a man for herself.

Oh, and I cannot wait to try some of the coffee recipes which are included. This one has coffee marinated steak which I am definitely trying - soon!

This book was EXCELLENT! You do not have to drink coffee to enjoy this mystery set in a coffee shop, The Village Blend, in the city Manhattan. Could not but it down.....

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Admittedly, it had been a while since I had read the first one and had forgotten a lot about the characters, it didn't take me long to remember them when I started reading this one. And while I love coffee, I don't exactly love hearing about it in every conversation, so that's a bit over the top for me. That is the only negative thing I can say about the book. Overall, I loved the book and am getting ready to start the next one in the series!

Book #2 in series. Clare Cosi has coffee in her veins. That's why she jumped at the chance to return to NYC as manager of the historic Village Blend coffeehouse. And her new life is a pretty flavorful blend too-with her daughter close at hand, and her ex-husband even closer, and a double-tall drink of water named Det. Quinn needing help with the occasional cup a crime.

Fun 2nd entry into this coffeehouse series. Clare has a new man to date (much to her ex-husband Matt's and Detective Mike Quinn's dismay) but there is one problem, he is a suspect in 3 murders. Drama ensues.

This book is darker than the traditional cozy mystery. The writing has improved from the first book and the character depictions have developed further. I doubt I'll read any more of the series though. They have a harshness to them that I just don't care for.

A cozy mystery brewed to perfection. Cleo Coyle gives the cozy genre a wonderful burst of energy with the coffeehouse mystery series featuring Clare Cosi, manager of the Blend. Intriguing characters mixed with a cleverly crafted mystery gives the mystery reader a new heroine and series to read. Looking forward to additional installments in this series.
