A good entry in the Crimson series, though the central theme of the book can feel a bit repetitive if you've read a lot within this genre. Still, a solid plotline and well written, it definitely advanced the underlying plotlines within the series as a whole. A good book, recommended for fans of the series who have read the previous installments.

I liked this book the least of the Crimson City series. Here we have a series set in a world where humans, vampires and werewolves are in conflict and Ms. O'Shea writes a book about deamons, ignoring all the other possibilities. Then, too, her "romance" is more graphic that any of the other Crimson authors. The book was good enough to finish, but the author is not going on my TBR list.

THIS IS THE FIRST O'SHEA I'VE READ IT HAS DEMONS,HALF DEMONS,VAMPS,AND WERES. GOOD READ,I LIKED IT. I WILL READ MORE FROM HIM.
Helpful Score: 1
I've never read any romance stuff before - and I didn't realize this was more of a romance than a Demon/Vampire/Werewolf type novel. I probably won't ever read any more of Patti O'Shea's stuff, but this one was not too bad.

Not interested in this series...to much mush and not enough action.

I have been disapponted with the last 2 books in the series. I hate the fact that characters are introduced in one book & then totally forgotten in the next. If your going to write a series with other authors make sure your all on the same page.

One of the better books in the Crimson City series. Good character development, good story. Steamy read!
If you like the Anita Blake books, this series (Crimson City) is right up your alley! I blew through this series in just a few weeks they were all so good!
Always loved this series.
This was a fun read, full of action, and romance. It is listed as a Paranormal action romance and it lives up to its promise.

A Great addition to the Crimson City series..
Cute but a bit predictable. I liked it ok, but not as much as A Taste of Crimson (Marjorie M. Liu), which is part of the same series, but by a different author.
An excellent read, my favorite of the series so far.
Los Angeles.. A melting pot for all types of people. Demons, werewolves, vampires and humans with psychic powers. great paranormal/action romance.

good fantasy story
I didn't realize this was part of a multi-book, multi-author series when I picked it up. So perhaps that has a bearing on my feelings that it is a little choppy.
The basic premise seems to be like that of Kim Harrison's Hollows or the Sookie Stackhouse books. Werewolves, vampires, demons and other supernaturals are present, active, and well known in current-day Los Angeles. The co-exist, but not happily.
From back cover: Los Angeles. Once, it was the City of Angels. Now, its Crimson City, whose inhabitants know nothing of Heaven. The tentative peace between the species -- werewolf, vampire, human -- teeters on the brink of collapse. Sides are being chosen. Yet the peril is greater than any imagine. There is a power here that longs for release, an ancient darkness held captive too long. Below, beneath, beyond, it seethes. And there are those who would see it freed.
Mika herself seeks freedom. Shes come to Crimson City looking for the key. But that keys keeper is a killer, an outsider, a mercenary with a poisoned past. To her kind, he has meant only death. No matter that Conor McCabes pale green eyes hold a hint of lust, the glint of a bond never to be broken; the path ahead lies in shadow. In a city like this, death can come by fire or fang, by claw or kiss. And the moment of truth must come...Through a Crimson Veil.

Awesome story on demons.
This book is part of a series written by different authors. The series is as follows:
#1 Crimson City - Liz Maverick
#2 A Taste of Crimson - Marjorie M. Liu
#3 Through a Crimson Veil - Patti O'Shea
#4 A Darker Crimson - Carolyn Jewel
#5 Seduced by Crimson - Jade Lee
#6 Crimson Rogue - Liz Maverick
#7 Shards of Crimson (anthology) - Liz Maverick, Patti O'Shea, Carolyn Jewel, Jade Lee
#8 Crimson & Steam - Liz Maverick
I've read through the sixth book, I give them all somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Not bad, not the greatest thing I've ever read.
