I was not prepared for what this book would offer, and I am an adult erotica reader. People have compared this book to The Story Of O, I disagree. In my eyes this wasn't about submissiveness and domination, it was a depresssed emotionally unbalanced woman ending up with a jerk that couldn't remain faithful!

Weird!! The book was interesting but the words didn't really flow well together. It got better towards the end. And she's just as twisted as her husband.

I don't think I was quite prepared for what this book would offer me. I liked the book for being so open about exploring the subject matter though. Obsessive love, deviant sexual desire and how life truly does go on even when you live with a kinky individual. I think it shows the strengths as well as the weaknesses of a life with more than two in a marriage.

As someone who reads BDSM erotica occasionally and has a *ahem* alternative lifestyle at times, I found this book neither erotic nor compelling. I don't think it can even be classified as erotica. It's more of a novella about an abusive relationship, and I like my kink consensual.

Readers should be warned there is infidelity (obviously), edgeplay, and simulated rape. For some readers this will be fine, but for others it will prove objectionable. For me the writing felt thin, like the writer was simply imagining those things but had never experienced those situations or that type of relationship.

I found the whole thing just felt dumb and contrived. The parts I was actually interested in were never fleshed out or explained, and (spoiler alert) once the husband dies, some woman from the beginning we hardly remember gets added back into the plot with some strange set-up between the dead husband and her. I will not read it again, and kinda wish I hadn't wasted my time reading it to begin with.
