I was a little hesitant about starting this book due to some reviews stating that it had a lot of military/battle content and not very much magic. That's all true, but it was definitely not a deal-breaker and I'm glad I read it. There were wonderful, fleshed-out characters and everyone had a secret. There were a lot of battle scenes, but they were well done, interesting, and exciting. Not boring at all. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
