Slow to start, but then it was great; lots of suspense, action and romance, too. Recommended, and I look forward to her next one, Highland Guardian.

This is a great love story! I fell in love with these characters quickly, especially the hero. The author really brought her world to life and used an interesting legend to help the story along. All of the secondary characters were interesting and easy to care about.

I did have issues with about the last twenty pages of plot. Some was too lightly explained and I felt that one thing wasn't explained at all. I loved the writing though and the story, so I can handle the short comings. I recommend this to those of you who like Sandra Hill and Karen Marie Moning's time travel. I can't wait to read the rest of Miss Mayhue's work.

Okay, but not great, very predictable in parts and the end was especially cliche. Light, light reading.

Caitlyn has just walked in on her fiancé and his secretary having sex on his desk and is in a huge daze when she gets home. In the middle of a pep talk to herself Connor appears and convinces her to come back in time with him to help save his little sister. He promises to return her if she will only help him with his cause. Thinking she is dreaming she goes with him and finds she has been gifted by the fey. To save his sister she has to marry Connor, and he chose her because he doesn't trust women, and she won't be around long. Caitlyn is sure she can change his mind but does she want to. Before they realize they have realized true love, she is nearly killed and then thrown back into her own time. Well she is having none of that, she has a gift and she's going to use it. She calls her father and three brother, who are a team of mercenaries of sorts and after traveling to the fairy circle they all go back in time to save Connor, and he and his great friend Richard, along with Connors sister Mari, all come forward to Denver, 2007.

First in a series. A fun read, kind of predictable, but still enjoyable. I'll definitely read the next one.

I came across Mayhue on Amazon while searching for new authors I might enjoy. When more than one review compared her with Karen Marie Moning, I had to read her books.

Like KMM's Highlander series, Mayhue's stories revolve around hunky Scotsmen, spunky heroines, powerful and often irresponsible Fae (faerie or fairy...so not Tinkerbell), and a happily ever after (HEA). Who could pass that up? Not me!

The series is called the Daughters of the Glen.

Mayhue did a wonderful job weaving incredible but energetic plots with characters who have depth. The heroes (hot, intelligent, and overprotective) and the heroines (smart, witty, and a touch quirky) in this series often reminded me of Moning's. If the Fae legend wasn't so very different from Moning this could easily be considered a spin off of her Highlander series. Moning followers will enjoy this series. Romance and magic beautifully combine to entice the reader in this series. And while each book is a strong stand-alone romance, there is enough back story in each book for the reader to follow, the reading experience is richer when read in order.

Melissa Mayhue has become one of my must buy authors.

Unaware of the faerie legends surrounding her family, Cate is transported back to medieval Scotland to help Connor MacKiernan save his sister. This was a great quick read.

This series is really good. I would recommend it to everyone. I read them in reverse order, only because I didn't know about the series until I had already read the 3rd book. I would consider acquiring all 3 books and keeping them for my library, they are that good!

My first time reading this author and very pleased I chose this series! I stayed up late to finish the first book!! I am afraid if the 7 that follow are just as good, I will have a few sleepless nights ahead of me!

Really enjoyed the main characters Caty and Connor. Would love to find a man like Connor - a Scottish Warrior!

This was a nice quick fluffy read. The characters are likeable and the settings are beautifully described. I was disappointed in the lack of magic through the book, which is the only thing keeping me from giving this 4 stars. I liked it enough to give the second book a go, but it will not be a high priority in my TBR pile.

Once upon a time, a fairy loved his human wife so much that he decreed that all his daughters' daughters would have Fae magical powers. Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband is a story of two of those daughters - Rosalyn, based in the 13th century, and Caitlyn Rose, based in the 21st century but called back to the 13th by Rosalyn's magic.

Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband was good. Light on the romance but story was engaging. I loved the relationship between Cate and Connor. I think it was a good start to a nice series. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

not al all what I was expecting...

It starts off pretty slow and pretty ordinary... It doesn't pick up till the latter half of the book, but when it does, it's a pretty fast paced and fun ride.
In particular I loved that the bad guy isn't who you think it is... Though the way Ms. Mayhue describes it is a bit confusing, it totally threw me for a bit of a loop. also the ending was unexpected (in a good way) as well...

I will say that I initially didn't like the heroine but she grows as a person throughout the book... Maybe not as overtly as in other books in the genre, but enough so that by the end of the book, I can honestly say I not only liked her, but am happy she got her HEA.
So while it's not my favorite historical PNR it was a pleasant ( and that really is the best word for it ) read, and at this point I think I'd like the rest of the series :)
