A very good continuation of the saga! However, I don't think reading the books out of order would be enjoyable. Shinn builds on relationships and the story line without thorough recapping of previous book. Also if you are enjoying the Angel series, you may not enjoy the Twelve Houses series. At least for me, I did not enjoy the few Angel books (I kept thinking ... same author so the Angel series must improve, but it never did), but I am thoroughly enjoying her Twelve Houses. The 12 houses has witty and engaging characters in a thoroughly engrossing storyline with mystics, shape shifters, kingdoms, and magic.
This book, third in the Twelve Houses series, follows shapeshifter Kirra Danalustrous as she takes her sister's place on a tour of the great Houses. Intrigue, action and a twisty plot ensue. Kirra falls in love with a married lord, complicating things. I cried at the end!
