This is the scariest book I ever read. The setting is Los Angeles, mostly in all the neighbors I have lived in. Vampires are taking over L.A. Only an old man, a priest and a young boy can stop them!

Stephen King wrote a little vampire horror book entitled SALEM'S LOT, which was scary... BUT Robert McCammon wrote THEY THIRST, which expands the theme to the breaking point. In his version there isn't one main male vampire and a few women followers, INSTEAD, he takes the idea of what would really happen. First, there would be 2, 2 would make 4, and then 4 would make 16 and in a matter of time, there would be 100,000 living dead, visiting their family and friends for dinner each night. Of courdse there is a main vampire who is guided by the devil himself, and an unlikely hero who came fomr the old country (Europe), where the belief is not found in fairy tales, but in reality. It is a great story, with wonderful good and evil characters, and a plot that turns and twists enough to keep you up at night (either reading the book because it's hard to put down or because little thoughts creep in). After all, what if you knew something terrible was coming and you couldn't get away?
