Lots of twists and turns. I liked the storyline.

Fifteen years later, Anna is working as a probation officer in Denver when she meets Joe Mackenzie, a white collar criminal convicted of embezzlement. As Joe looks for justice, he pulls Anna back into the past she left behind.

Good, interesting reading and offers a lot of insight into the polygamy way of life.

I only read this book, which had been in my TBR stack for a very long time, as part of a challenge. This is not the type of book I normally read and I knew nothing about the author but I am very glad that I read the book.
An underdog parolee (Joe) trying to prove that he really is innocent gets assigned to a parole officer (Anna) who likes to give underdogs a chance. Her past still haunts Anna and shapes all that she does but she is determined to help Joe escape from what appears to be a contract killer out to stop him from trying to find the real thief. The action moves quickly and has many twists.
