I work as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate and deal with the traumas of violence on a daily basis working with countless victims of both domestic and sexual abuse. In reading this book, I can see where the forgiveness of an awful transgression is a healing aid in one's recovery. I do believe, however, that these perpretrators do need to be held accountable through the justice system, if only to safe another from going through the abuse as terrible of sexual assault. I am going to read more into the Amish's way of dealing with tragedy as I feel it will be of great significance in the healing of my clients. I am in awe of this group of people and I think we can all learn a lot from them.

Excellent. Everyone should read, just to learn more about forgiveness. How to forgive. Why should I? This helped me in my attitude about forgiving others. Caused me to think. It wasn't the gory, injury oriented detail book I first thought it would be. A voyeaur's book.

Good insight into a very difficult event. This book really helped me understand what was behind the forgiveness that the Amish seemed to offer so easily in the midst of this horrible tragedy.
