Like many essay collections, this one was a mixed bag at least to me. There were some essays that were brilliant and some that I couldn't tell you what they were about because I got bored and ended up skimming. The author is clearly brilliant and she has an incredible knowledge of books and film. If nothing else this is a great way to get recommendations.
