Beth Pennington is an aid worker in South America when she is kidnapped by a local terrorist group Guiding Light. Beth is taken to their mountain camp where she meets Finn MacGowan. Finn, a member of the anti-terrorism group The Committee, has been held captive for three years. He is not happy that The Committee has abandoned him and plans to break out this very night. When Finn makes his dash for freedom, Beth is right on his heels. As they make an arduous journey down the mountain and through the jungle, they are pursued by killers, given up by traitors, and hunted by contract killers for the CIA.

This is the sixth and last book in the Ice series and my favorite. Unlike many of Stuart's heroes in this series, Finn doesn't think that killing innocent people is an acceptable practice. He may threaten to have sex with Beth, but both she and he know that it is all talk. Beth is a strong character who is determined to keep up with Finn with no complaints. She knows he is her only way out alive and isn't going to give him any reason to leave her behind. Their romance is hot and believable.

In this story we get to see many of the characters from the previous books in the series. Peter plays heavily in this book. Finn is determined to take Peter down because he feels he is the reason that Finn was left to linger in the prison. Other members of The Committee make cameo appearances. This is a great way to end the series. My rating: 5 Stars.
