This book is an Alex Delaware mystery, the psychologist/detective unwinds the series of murders, all connected to "therapy" and gives us a satisfying surprise!
Helpful Score: 2
An Alex Deleware and Milo Sturgis novel. On a lonely lover's lane in the hills of Los Angeles, a young couple lies murdered in a car. Each bears a single gunshot wound to the head. The female victim has also been impaled by a metal spike. The dead woman remains unidentified and seemingly unknown to everyone. But her companion has a name: Gavin Quick - and his troubled past eventually landed him on a therapist's couch. It's there, on familiar turf, that Delaware hopes to find vital clues. And that means going head-to-head with a popular celebrity psychologist who fiercely guards the privacy of her clients...dead or alive. But when there's another gruesomely familiar murder, Delaware surmises that his investigation has struck a nerve. As he trolls the twisted wreckage of Quick's tormented last days, what he finds isn't madness, but the cold-blooded method behind it.

one of kellerman's best
As good as it gets for an Alex Delaware novel.
An author that was really hit his stride - Milo is evened out, Alex is insightful without being preachy or jarring. An absolutely excellent story!
Behind the yellow crime-scene tape, a brutal tableau awaits. On a lonely lover's lane in the hills of Los Angeles, a couple lies murdered in a car. There's quite a shocking surprise to this book. A real brainteaser.
Jonathan Kellerman never disappoints. His Alex Delaware series brings us into the minds and motivations of child harmers of one stripe or another and makes the psychology so engaging that you can't help but come back for more.
"Therapy" is about a murder where the victim happens to have been in therapy, due to a trouble past. Alex is recruited to find out what he can from the psychologist who provided treatment. He uncovers corruption, greed and betrayal, which leads to a suprise ending.

ANOTHER GREAT ALEX DELAWARE
Gripping mystery, kept me guessing.
another edge of your seat
Pretty good. Plot is deep enough to keep you guessing.
Kellerman's plots are always interesting, if a bit grisly. Delaware brings a unique perspective to detective work.
This is the best of Kellermans's most recent Alec Delaware books, which had become rather formulaic and stale. Maybe because it puts Delaware on familiar ground, but you understand why he is a psych consultant to the LAPD and not just a paid buddy for his pariah friend Sturgis. Sorting out the plot at the end was a little difficult and there were maybe one too many strings to pull, but I liked it anyway. If you liked Kellerman's books at the beginning of the series, you will probably like this one.
Great read
Good, although not one of his best. Still entertaining.
A Kellerman Alex Delaware novel. New York Times Bestseller list etc. Young L.A. Couple murdered at Lover's Lane...one shot to the head each. Delaware butts heads with one of those society psychologists. Some neat twists.
An enjoyable Alex Delaware mystery.
As good as vintage Alex Delaware- with Milo and his partner Rick Silverman. Alec and Robin have been separated and he is now with another woman, also a shrink (shades of Robert Barkers Spencer) who does not shrink from the details of Alex's softn bloody detecting. But she is not Luthier. Good story with the usual excellent characterizations carrying the plot lines.
great mystery
I couldn't put it down....If you like crime scene books, you'll love this one.
if you're a fan of alex delaware this one has a twist because it involves another therapist. it's one of the better ones, kept me guessing. jonathan kellerman rocks.
Alex Delaware, a clinical psychologist who works with the police, and Milo, a policeman, work to solve a murder involving a psychiatrist and two of her patients who were murdered. It is interesting and intriguing.
Love his stuff and this one was a great read.
a good read. Exciting, enjoyable

One of Kellerman's best
A page turner for those who love Alex Delaware, psychologist-sleuth.
Dr Delaware helps Milo solve a murder of a young couple, their bodies discovered in their car on a lonely lover's lane in the hills of Los Angeles.
Delaware's new adventure leads the sleuthing psychologist on a harrowing exploration into the realm he knows best: the human psyche, in all its complexity, mystery, and terrifying propensity for darkness.
Another great Alex Delaware story, with all of the plot twists we have come to expect.
Lots of twists and turns. "A tight, engaging brainteaser".
Jonathan Kellerman has made the psychological thriller his own gripping province with his bestselling series of Alex Delaware novels. Now, Delaware's new adventure leads the sleuthing psychologist on a harrowing exploration into the realm he knows best: the human psyche, in all its complexity, mystery, and terrifying propensity for darkness.
As provocative as it is suspenseful, Therapy is premier Kellerman that finds the award-winning author firing on all creative cylinders--and carrying readers on an electrifying ride to a place only he can take them, for an experience they won't soon forget.

Another great "Alex Delaware" novel.

Best in the alex delaware series by far!
This is a great book.
From the Publisher:
"Been a while since I had me a nice little whodunit," homicide detective Milo Sturgis tells Alex Delaware. But there's definitely nothing nice about the brutal tableau behind the yellow crime-scene tape. On a lonely lover's lane in the hills of Los Angeles, a young couple lies murdered in a car. Each bears a single gunshot wound to the head. The female victim has also been impaled by a metal spike. And that savage stroke of psychopathic fury tells Milo this case will call for more than standard police procedure. As he explains to Delaware, "Now we're veering into your territory."
It is dark territory, indeed. The dead woman remains unidentified and seemingly unknown to everyone. But her companion has a name: Gavin Quick--and his troubled past eventually landed him on a therapist's couch. It's there, on familiar turf, that Delaware hopes to find vital clues. And that means going head-to-head with Dr. Mary Lou Koppel, a popular celebrity psychologist who fiercely guards the privacy of her clients . . . dead or alive.
But when there's another gruesomely familiar murder, Delaware surmises that his investigation has struck a nerve. As he trolls the twisted wreckage of Quick's tormented last days, what he finds isn't madness, but the cold-blooded method behind it. And as he follows a chain of greed, corruption, andbetrayal snaking hideously through the profession he thought he knew, he'll discover territory where even he never dreamed of treading.

Good book, another winner from Kellerman.
I still find I can't resist J. Kellerman, even though he's become pretty formulaic. Good solution for a wet Sunday afternoon.
Kellerman is either getting better, or he's copying other people....couple of bright spots in this one.
I like Kellerman's style. He keeps one interested throughout the book and a has few unique twists. A good read by any measure.
Pretty good example of Kellerman's thrillers. Definitely one of the better Alex Delaware novels in recent years.
