Not your average Regency romance. A good mystery, a strong, smart heroine, an intelligent hero, intrigue, adventure = a very good book.

Emma works as a lady's companion. Her spunky spirit has cost her a few jobs. At a house party, she meets Edison Stokes who hires her to help him find a missing book of arcane lore. This leads to danger, murder, and romance. In short, a great book. This is another Vanza series book.

The Rocky Mountain News "I thee wed is a witty, delightful read." The Denver Post "If you start an Amanda Quick book in the late afternoon, you'll probably spend the night with it"

It isn't easy making a living as a lady's companion when one possesses a sharp tongue and an original mind. That's why Emma Greyson has gone through three such positions in six months. Her current post at a tiresome country house party has her bored to tears - until an extraordinary encounter with the legendary Edison Stokes leads to a secret position as his assistant. Read and see what happens.....

This was a great read and didn't want to put the book down once I started.

Quick manages to combine an interesting mystery with strong eccentric characters...and some charmingly funny moments.

great book. Have read everything by Quick and this book was just as good as her others.

Emma, the supposed spunky protagonist, for all her insights into the lives of both upstairs/downstairs, still seemed incredibly naive. The romance between she and Edison was not well-developed. They were around each other, they were conveniently engaged, and then "poof" they are suddenly in love. It just did not seem natural, or plausible, if plausability is allowed in romance novels. There are other more entertaining stories with better twists and mysteries out there.
