A VERY tiny book - 24 4x6 inch pages, including some pictures - about a Mexican family in 1824 New Mexico who make their living from sheep herding and weaving. Josefina, the youngest daughter, thinks of a more efficient way for the daughters to weave blankets. Glossary of Spanish words, and instructions on how to tie-dye a t-shirt with natural dye from onion skins.
Beautiful gift book! The Montoya sisters are hard at work weaving- and squabbling. Francisca and Clara blame Josefina the hours of extra work , and Josefina is hurt and frustrated. Can she find a way to "weave" together her sisters talents so that weaving is less work- and maybe even fun?
