A very well paced mystery thriller, that is also very witty & Thoughtful at times, about a doctor who returns to his rural Louisiana home down after a long absence to find all the townspeople behaving strangely. With the help of his fellow physician cousin, he begins to uncover a criminal experiment to influence people's behavior by tainting the water supply.

"Thanatos"in Greek mythology cheated "Death" by assuming to be an animal. Great prose with an interesting premise, it centers on a paroled psychologist who has at one time made a "breakthrough" discovery. Now he is faced with secret and illegal dealings by (what else) BIG money, BIG enterprise, BIG egos, and whatever. A nuclear power plant is adulterating the water supply, but to what end? The end will surprise you, the story entertain you, the theme disgust you. But, read it anyway.

This was a very odd and original story. I'm sort of neutral on it, actually. the "mystery" part of it is not very interesting or convincing to me.

If you like thrillers about odd circumstances in life then you\'ll really enjoy this book. Doesn\'t quite build to the climax I\'d hoped for but the premise is very interesting.
