Three short stories about college friends who reunite in Texas over the 4th of July when one of the 4 announces her engagement. I really liked the first story about a tomboy forensic anthropologist who attracts their host's brother in spite of the fact that she can wield a hammer and change a flat tire faster than he can. Brother number two goes to a high society girl turned reporter and a family friend matches up with the magazine editor who pulled herself up by her bootstraps. You have to wait until February for the book about the engaged one.
