Loved this book which is the last book of the series. The characters are wonderfully developed. The story captured my interest immediately and I just wanted to do nothing but read until I was finished. Each book in the series stands alone but if possible read all 4 books as characters from each book are common throughout.

Jodi Thomas again proves her ability to weave a love story like no other. Although it does not have an actual sex scene throughout the book, the sexual tension and enduring love story make this an enthralling read. Thomas's characters are so unique and full of life, they become real in the reading.
A great romantic western!
This was such a great addition to her last three 'TEXAN' books. I really looked forward to Jacob and Two Bit's story. I am so glad it finally came out. The ending was a bit quick in my opinion, but well worth it.
Years ago, Texas Ranger Jacob Dalton bailed an orphan girl named Nell out of trouble more times than he could count. But now the kid he once called Two Bits has grown into a beautiful young woman and is in more trouble than ever before. Wounded in an ambush, Nell refuses to become a burden to her former guardian angel. Unfortunately, her injury has made it impossible for her to handle the ranches she has inherited, so she decides to get herself a husband. One things for sure, she isn't about to let Jacob bully her into saying I do. When Jacob steps in line for her hand, Nell is forced to weight her need for his help against a love too strong to allow him to sacrifice his future for her.
I hadn't read one of hers for so long; I thought oh maybe it won't be so great, but it was a good read and I enjoyed it- it was a good story.
i love jodi thomas books and the wife lottery are the best ,makes you fgeel like your there and a part of it.
very good
I loved it! I loved that a couple of continuing side characters got their own story. The strength and determination of each to fight for what they thought was best for the other despite and including how they felt about each other was fun and heartbreaking at the same time. Anyone who reads this and the other books in the Wife Lottery series can not help but come to enjoy each and every one the characters.
Love Jodi Thomas! Great read for anyone who love western romance.
This book was just a good as the three others in this series! Last one of the four! Absolutely love Jodi Thomas!
This is a fast read, hard to put down.
Jodi Thomas introduces us to another Texas ranger who is bound and determined to protect a young girl he calls "Two Bits" who is just as determined to take care of herself.
Nice read. I enjoyed the book.
I'm sorry, but paralysis is NOT romantic. I hated it.
Great Western romance. Lots of funny moments and interesting offbeat characters. Plenty of action-adventure too.
This was an excellent ending to a wonderful series. As I will say about any book that is part of a series, read them in order, every one in the series. You do yourself a great disservice if you pick up the last book in the series and invest time reading it, expecting great things. Read books 1-3 of the 'texas lottery' series, then finish with the GRAND FINALE -This book. It was a great, emotion filled book which answered questions raised in the first three books. Well worth taking the entire series to the beach w/ you and get lost in good reading all week of your vacation.

Texas Ranger Jacob Dalton has always kept a protective eye on Nell, the rebellious orphan raised by Fat Alice, the town's madam. But after being crippled in a shooting, Nell advertises for a husband to run her ranches, and Jacob is determined to marry her himself. He drops everything to race home only to find her entertaining candidate number 12, an innocuous bookkeeper. But before he can convince her to choose him, the ranger finds himself dealing first with an oily lawyer intent on swindling Nell out of her property, then with a cutthroat gang of train robbers. Complicating the situation, Nell has filled her house with social outcasts, and the resultant chaos means that Jacob's courtship must proceed under public scrutiny. Thomas' western historical romance moves along swiftly, using the demands of a ranger's lifestyle as well as the isolation forced on Nell and her household by the town, and her physical limitations, to create interestingly complex tensions.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous three. The heroine was really annoying.
