Good writer, a little chatty at times (I suspect that all scientists have been ordered "humanize" their writing at one time or another.) Author knows when to use "fish" and when to use "fishes." However, he lost credibility on p297 when he referred to copper pollution levels rising during the Roman Empire in 500BC.
