This is a great book to read when you loose a pet, a cat specifically. I give it to my friends, actually I often even read it to them when they loose their pets. They always cry and smile at the same time.
A very, very sweet book about a child whose cat dies. The dad says he doesn't think he can know for sure if there is a heaven, but if that if there is one, Barney is certainly there. This gives kids a great way to grieve for a pet, by listing the good things about it.
This book is not great, but it's better than nothing.
I almost felt even worse after reading this one.
I much preffered Mr Rogers' "When a pet dies".

I didn't like the part of the book where they decided to have a philosophical argument about rather or not if heaven existed or not. Without that the book would have been good to help children with the loss of a pet.
