This book is based on a speech given at a graduation ceremony and the points are very valid. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and even 20 some years after graduation, hope to incorporate some of Maria's points in my life. Definitely a chick book but one that can be taken to heart.

Has the feel of one of those retro "women's advice" books from the 50s & 60s. Some interesting anecdotes from Maria Shriver's life as a privileged Kennedy kid starting out working in television, but kind of feels like it was from a different age & written for a different mentality than today's know-everything instantly, share-it-with-everyone 20-somethings.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and even laughed aloud at points. I felt Maria was such a down to earth type of person, and her "lessons" are very real and applicable, and full of humor.

Excellent advice for a college graduate! Wish I had read this many years ago.
