I liked this book. I wanted to like it more, but the transitions were abrupt and I felt like I was missing a book because the world building was sketchy. The characters were strong and the plot kept me interested enough to read almost straight through. I'll wish list the rest here, but I'm not going to buy them.

I really liked this. The characters are well drawn, and the heroine doesn't turn into a "Mary Sue". She holds her own with the hero, too.

I absolutley LOVED this book. I have read many wereeolf books- but this has got to be the best and most unique I have read. If you like paranormal and you like romance this is a book for you!!!

This beginner book series was alright, pretty much ok. Got to say I liked it, but did not grab me like some of the other UF series out there do. Kinda expected more werewolf, but kept me reading it thru. Another reviewer mentioned In Death series, and that is what it put me in the mind of, with Lily and her spunky attitude. I liked her tho, her spunkiness and tuffness. Not much romanticism, but I really like the mystery twist more anyway. Rated a 4 star.

So.... Tempting Danger started out really really good and exciting and sort of faded into just "alright".
I'm not really sure what happened but it seemed to get bogged down by...something. The pace just seemed to slow down, at least for me. And it didn't help that I didn't like the Hero too much at the start of the book. (Out of all the reviews already given, I'd say Alison H's is the most accurate (with the sketchy world building))
All around this first book in the Lupi Series reminded me of a cross b/w The "In death" series and Nalini Singh's Psy series... Though not as good as either, I'll look forward to reading the rest of the books to see if they get any better (and to see how Lily and Rules relationship pans out).

This was a great read.I had read her old series romances, but this book shows she has become a very good storyteller and holds her own in the larger format.

took me a while to get absorbed by this book. Being the first in the series, Wilks has to "set it up" so to speak, and some of the terms used by the lupi still aren't clear. But once the story starts to move along I found Lily and Rule a charming couple. I do think Lily accepted the idea of being "chosen" a little to easy, but we will see what happens in the next book. This is a different kind of paranormal story, all kinds of characters exist, it's not just about werewolves. Give it a try, its not a keepsake book, but a good story for a sunday afternoon. I have now wish-listed the rest of the series.

This is the first book in the rather large World of the Lupi series. I have had this book on my TBR pile for awhile and was excited to finally read it. This started out as a solid investigative urban fantasy with overtones of paranormal romance. As the story continued though it got much more interesting; involving magic and other dimensions. I ended up enjoying it quite a bit.
Lily is a woman detective fighting to make her way in a predominantly male career. She has the added complication of being a sensitive, which means she can âreadâ items and people. This is an ability that is looked down upon but the department finds this skill useful so they kind of look the other way.
I enjoyed Lily and Rule as characters; they were fun to read about and have good chemistry together. The side characters were also well done. The writing is easy to read and flows nicely. All in all I was impressed and plan on continuing the series.
As I mentioned this starts out as a pretty typical paranormal read but then as the story continues higher magic and godlike beings enter the story making it incredibly interesting and a bit different from other reads out there.
Overall this was a fun read and I enjoyed it. This is an engaging and interesting first book in this series and I plan on continuing. I would recommend to readers who enjoy urban fantasy and don't mind some crossover into the paranormal romance territory.

This is a good introduction to the series. I like the characters a great deal.
