Robyn Carr sucked me in to Virgin River yet again! I read Second Chance Pass a few weeks ago and really liked it. I forced myself to hold off on reading Temptation Ridge for a little while, and now I'm kicking myself! Once I started, I could not put this book down.
If you are a fan of this series at all, you will truly enjoy this book. The book description on the back is a bit misleading. Shelby and Luke ARE the main characters (according to the plot), but their story maybe, maybe takes up half of the pages. It is so wonderful to read about all of the familiar characters from past books as well as discovering the stories behind the new faces (Walt & Murial and Cam & Abby).
Luke is a wonderful hero: strong, arrogant, handsome, sexy and wounded (emotionally). It is delightful to watch Shelby get past his barriers. Their "wrong for each other" storyline is pretty predictable, but the way the scenes are written, it's like it is new all over again. Luke is too old for her. She's too innocent for him. He knows that, she knows that, and you know there is going to be a big blow-up over it (even though they had "the talk"). Given that it's a romance, you know there is going to be a happy ending, and it is well worth the journey of reading this book to see how they get there!

Walt Booth's niece Shelby McIntyre has decided to spend a few months in Virgin River to decide what her future holds. At twenty-five, Shelby has had a sheltered life, having spent five years caring for her dying mother. She wants some romance, but when she meets Luke Riordan, he's definitely not the type of man she had in mind.
As with the other books in the Virgin River series, there are several sub-plots. All of them excellent. Great book, but you should definitely read these in order!

Great continuation of the Virgin River series! Love this place and everyone in it - even when the stories take the same path - the people are different and I can't wait to see it turn out great!!! Just the way everyone wants it to!!!

Robin's books are always a joy to read. Her character's have every day problems/issues just like everyone else that are worked out in simple ways.
