If you like Maureen Smith's other books, and I have, you'll like this one. However, this is a very short book. There's no real plot or meat to the story. It really helps if you've read the two preceding books so you understand more of the two characters' backgrounds. Quentin is charming, successful, rich, and a playboy. He's your typical male romance book character. Lexi is a divorcee. She's gorgeous, smart, and full of insecurities. She and Quentin have been best friends for nearly two decades. They realize that there's something between them that goes beyond a platonic friendship. Should they act on it or should they leave it alone so that a good friendship isn't destroyed?
The male on the cover of the book looks nothing like the description of Quentin. That's a pet peeve of mine. I wish the cover art editor would pay more attention to the description of the characters. Quentin is supposed to be about 6 ft 5", very light-skinned with hazel eyes. She's supposed to be very petite at 5 ft 2". With such a height difference, there's no way her head is going to fit exactly under his chin as shown on the cover. I know..it's petty and minor..but such things bug me. /off my soap box now.

Loved this book!!! lexi was so cool and despite some moments where her insecurity bothered me I loved her a s a character and quentin was just the best most delicious....... Anyway another steamy maureen smith novel and I have to say as a chef she got so much right!!!! well done!
