Another excellent book in this fanatasy series. Finally, we have more of the characters coming together and not off on separate jaunts. Definately make sure to read the series in order, or it will make no sense. It was fast paced and exciting. Well crafted and quick reading.

Great adult fantasy series. Themes include, but are ont limited to sexual undertones as well as severe torture. A very good read if you do not mind these themes.

Fantasy Novel. Very enjoyable reading. Written very well. Characters are strong and engaging. I greatly enjoyed reading this book and would read it again anytime.

Full of rape, torture, murder, blood and guts (literally). NOT good books, but very engaging. I was unable to put them down, and have lost a lot of sleep during the two months it took me to read the entire series. I cringed, I cried, I gasped, I had nightmares. I can't imagine what kind of twisted mind thinks up this kind of stuff.
In regards to the tv series based on these books DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOKS. I had to force myself to at least give them a chance, but was so pissed off within the first few minutes of the very first episode. I don't understand why the author had to butcher the story.
Anyway, read at your own discression. Not for kids or teenagers (or even a lot of adults :)

Sometimes Terry gets a little long-winded, and Richard gets a little preachy. Other than that, this book continued an excellent series. I love the bad guys in these books!

I've loved the series up to now, but I had a hard time getting into this one. Nadine was so frustrating, and it just took so long to get to the point of what they were fighting against and why. But I eventually warmed up to the book, and was happy enough with it to want to read the next one.

So far this is my favorite book of the series. If you love fantasy this is a series I really encourage you to read. (the sword of truth series) I find the author to be very creative. a rating of the book reads: Mr.Goodkind has the extraordianry ability to imbue rousing fantasy adventure with a rare emotional depth, once again exploring the power of love and forgiveness. I have to warn you there are some violent events. Still I love the overall story.

Another solid storyline in this series - I liked this one much better than book #3. Once again, the only complaint I have is that the author seems to be so fixated on sex. Sometimes I wonder if I've picked up a sadistic trashy novel. But I still like the storyline and the author's solid plots to continue to read them.

I hated this series, but not because of how the books were written! The books were written wonderfully, and I truly fell in love with the characters. But therein lies the problem, because so much BAD happens to them!

It was an excellent read ... to the very end! =) It starts up the next day following book #3 ... which is why I had to start on it right a way and not let any time elapse between the 2 books. I'm not going to give anything away ... but the ending is wonderful! =)

This is the fourth volume in the Sword of Truth series. 822 pages of adventures for Richard and his beloved Kahlan.

Book 4 in Goodkind's interminable series. Will Kahlan and Richard ever get together? I ceased to care and gave up after this one. Or maybe it was the next one. I forget.

I loved this series in the beginning, but this book for some reason was all about sex and sadism. It's not something I enjoy, or want in my home with my kids.

Excellent. Astounding. Super-duper (Are you catching my drift?) But please, read the 1st 3 books in the series beforehand

I love this series, but want to point out that it's not for children. The series strays far from the TV show, The Legend of the Seeker. It has adult themes not suitable for children.

This book is absolutely amazing! It is by far my favorite book of all time and the best of the Sword of Truth series. There are a lot of great character developments and conflicts in Temple of the Winds. Also: an awesome book for fans of the two main characters Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell. I don't know what else to say just that if you are reading the series do not stop before you reach this one and do not skip over it. A truly amazing read!

Okay, what to say without spoiling?

This was a great story. I was never really sure what was going to happen next and whose side some characters were on, which is not easy to do. I can usually figure out characters' motivations and where the loyalties will eventually lie. This time I was flip-flopping. I love the journey and growth in Cara, Raina, and Berdine. They learned that they could love and be loved and yet maintained all of their power and confidence. Cara is by far my favorite Mord-Sith and I think she is the perfect protector for not only Richard, but Kahlan as well. And even though a lot of the story revolved around Richard and Kahlan's relationship, it wasn't all about the romance. Their romance didn't overtake the whole story, which can happen in a lot of books that feature romance between the main characters.

I also liked that Lord Rahl and the Mother Confessor didn't take over the whole book, there were other subplots led by other characters that were important to the overall story and very interesting to read. I enjoyed how all of the other stories connected and were important to the main plot.

This was full of surprises as we lost some characters and some that we thought were lost returned to the story. And while I feel like there was a clear ending, at the same time there wasn't. Kahlan and Richard are finally together and reunited with the people most important to them, and Jagang's plan was thwarted. But Jagang himself hasn't been stopped. He's still out there and he's been made aware of some prophecies and we have no idea what he knows or what he plans to do with the knowledge. My guess is, he's still coming for Richard and the New World, but how and when?

From AudioFile
Dick Hill's incredibly dramatic reading of this fourth book of The Sword of Truth series transports listeners to Richard Cypher's world. Richard, the Seeker of Truth, is caught up in a world of magic, war and extraordinary dangers. His actions and decisions determine the fate of this world! Hill builds the suspense and intrigue of Goodkind's stirring and complex epic; his vocal depiction of the power-mad Emperor Jagang is evil personified. Hill's voices bring the stress, fear and distress of these characters to the listeners and wrap them in the evil that is the Temple of the Winds fortress. Will Richard and his beloved Kahlan Amnell save the day, or will Jagang triumph? Stay tuned! S.C.A. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
