I have mixed feelings about this one. When the book started out, I really didn't care very much for Tempest. She's whiny and spoiled, and she seems to be complaining about everything. She remains a mostly unlikable character throughout the majority of the book.
The story picked up a bit about 100 pages in. I really enjoyed the parts with Tempest and Kona as their relationship grew. They had a nice chemistry together, and the underwater scenes were fun.
I did have a few issues with the book. The whole thing felt like a great big wind-up, and then the actual "dramatic ending battle scene" was over in the blink of an eye, and it was completely melodramatic. After this comes a chapter or two that are just kind of dangling at the end. Overall, the book was an entertaining read, but I think it had the potential to be better.
