Great summer read for kids aged 11-13!

Required reading in the accelerated program in my son's 6th grade class. He said it was interesting (takes place in the early 1900's).
The hooligans in this classroom have finally met their match!

This book was fun in an old fashioned way. There wasn't a host of complex characters or complicated story lines but it was charming and amusing and will be a gentle distraction for you if you are not looking for a deeply immersible reading experience.
