I just finished this second book in the series and can't wait for the third. I wrote the author to see when the next book is coming out and SHE actually answered back, not some automated response system. This is what she said about book 3... "I'm working hard on finishing up the third book right now and depending on what notes my editor has for me it'll be out sometime in the first half of '08. Sorry I can't be more specific than that! But I have a related short story - a prequel with Zoe Archer, Jo's mother - in an anthology coming out in November called HOLIDAYS ARE HELL."
I'll be looking for that book in November..

While I liked the first book enough to purchase this book, I was unable to finish it, but I seem to be alone in my dislike for this...

When I reviewed The Scent of Shadows, the first book in the Zodiac series, I said that this is a really angsty, tear you apart story. Book 2 is like this but to a lesser extent. After reading this book I'm still not sure where the story is going to go. It's so complicated and everyone has their own hidden agendas. I'm sure that there are more things we don't know yet as a reader about the world too. Also the books are dark, and the heroine isn't untouched by that. I need to digest and process what I read in these first two before I can continue onward with the story.

This was the second book of the Signs of the Zodiac series by Vicki Pettersson. I didn't think book was quite as good as the first one, but it was still a fast-paced and fun adventure to read.
With the second sign of the Zodiac looming imminent over the city of Las Vegas, Joanna Archer is desperate to figure out what the Shadows next move is. Unfortunately the rest of Light team is happy that things are in balance and are content to let things stand as they are. Will Joanna act on her own and foresake her other Light members? Will she finally get her revenge against the Shadow who raped her? Is she still able to pull off being Olivia without any mishaps? All of these questions and more are answered in this book.
This was a great book. Things happened quickly and a lot happened. The whole story was wrapped up nicely and nothing seemed forced, the pacing was great. It was hard to put the book down and I was holding my breath the whole time wondering what would happen next.
There was a lot I liked about this book. I liked the progression of the story in general. I liked Hunter, I liked JoAnna, I even think that the Tulpa makes a great bad guy. I love that the idea of events being reported in comic books was expanded. I loved the inclusion of more philisophy around believing things into existance. I think this is a great series.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was that Joanna really made a horrible heroine. She made mistake after mistake, and sometimes I wanted to smack her and talk some sense into her. Luckily though, by the end of the book, it seemed like Joanna was maturing and coming into her own as a heroine. I hope that this trend continues throughout the next book. That is one thing I don't like about the Anna Strong Chronicles, I am four books into that series and Anna is still making the same mistakes she made in the first couple books. Characters need to change and mature.
I conclusion, I love this series. I have the third book and am very excited to read it!

2nd book and this series just keeps getting better and better. Now "olivia" must confront her evil father, Joquin and the rest of her troop as they do not trust her. She of course does what she wants (and she will see Ben). The shadows are trying to get rid of the light and she and Hunter also come to an understanding. There is also a shadow initiate we meet, Regan, and she stirs up trouble as well. Can't wait for the next.

This series keeps getting better! Would be neat to see Regan killed off but I can understand why she makes it interesting! I cannot wait for the next one!

It was ok.
I still feel torn a little about this series. I like it enough to keep reading, but there are some parts I don't enjoy along with a few details to the premise of the story that don't seem very logical to me. Some parts are too predictable, yet it's good writing and I enjoyed enough of it to keep reading the series. I think I liked this one better than the first in some ways, maybe just because I was already in the mindset of the series.

I'm lovin' this series. The heroine can irritate the snot out of me but she seems to be maturing and I don't want to hurt her as often as I did at the beginning of this book. To her credit, it would be difficult to have your sister thrown out a window, assume her identity - her total identity, have a father as evil as Satan, and have kick-ass powers of light and dark at your command. Looking forward to reading the 3rd book in the series.

Was OK,Still not sure .
Really love this series! It's face paced and creatively written! I am hooked and on to the 3rd!
I love these books, they are quirky but not cheesy, a really interesting take on paranormal fiction, staying away from the regular vampires and werewolves and delving into the lives of modern-day superheroes.

I very much enjoyed this book as well as the first and third sign of the zodiac. It's an original plot with a sassy spirited heroine who finds herself in the unenviable position of being dead, but alive in her blonde bombshell sister's body. She knows her sister well enough to pull off the act, but she has to let her childhood love go to protect him and prevent drawing attention to him from the evil Shadows. She also has to deal with the guilt of knowing she inadvertently caused her sister's death. It's a plot full of superheroes and supervillains, good vs evil, and it's full of twists and turns. The heroine Joanna Archer finds that she is often her own worst enemy and is constantly at odds with those around her.
