Target Towers New York And The Path To 9/11 And Its Aftermath Author:John Davis Target Towers: New York and the Path to 9/11 and its Aftermath endeavors to answer a host of unanswered questions that developed in the wake of the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. These questions involve New York City, not Washington, DC. Since that fateful day author after author incessantly sought to discern what the governm... more »ent did or did not know about the coming attack. Still others have asked about the possibility about whether there was a conspiracy on September 11, 2001. A number of studies have focused on a host of questions involving US intelligence. Those questions were rudimentary: why did intelligence fail America? Why did the CIA and FBI not cooperate and share critical information that could have prevented the deadliest attack in US history? As significant as these questions may have been, no study has focused on the myriad of questions that concern New York. Such questions provide an altogether different perspective on the path to the heinous attack that occurred on September 11. Those questions include but are not limited to the following: What was the topic of conversation during the pivotal June 2001 meeting among counterterrorism officials from the FBI, CIA, and New York s Joint Terrorism Task (JTTF) Force? Why was the CIA conducting counterterrorism operations out of the WTC? And why has the agency hid this information from the 9/11 Commission and the American public? Why was New York targeted? Was it a terrorist safe haven? After receiving leads on a host of al Qaeda operatives that were allegedly conducting surveillance operations across New York City on September 11th, why did the JTTF not inform the mayor or the NYPD? Did the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey receive threat warnings that terrorists would exploit commercial airliners to attack the Towers? Was the NYPD or the FBI notified about these warnings? Is the public aware that al Qaeda maintained safe havens throughout New York prior to and in the wake of the inauspicious attack? How is it that Mohammed Atta was allowed to stay in a New York City Hotel months before the deadly attack without being apprehended by the FBI or the NYPD? This study reveals that there were three additional terrorist attacks on the date of infamy, 9/11. A question begs: Why were these attacks never revealed to people of New York and the American public? As this study unfolds the answer to these questions offer a unique view of the tragic events on that day and New York City s response.« less
