If you are a fan of the psy-changeling series you will want to read this book. But don't get your expectations too high. The love story between Adria and Riaz takes up only a portion of this book. The book spent so much time checking in with Hawke and Sienna, other couples, not to mention the necessary breaks to see what the Council is up to that I never really felt like I got to know Adria and Riaz.

I thought Singh could've given us more Adria and Riaz. The problems the couple endured seemed to be brushed over. So, while I love seeing the growing relationship between mates I feel Singh did a disservice to the main characters of the book.

Sometimes a book needs to be written to extend the story arc and that is what this one does. That being said I love Nalini Singh and her psy-changeling series. I am not sad I spent a few days reading this book. It just isn't one of the best in the series. Though the set up for the next book looks awesome.

Definitely read this series in order because you will be lost if you tried to start with this book.

It was nice to catch up with all the other couples and to see what the Psy were doing but I agree with the review that Adria and Riaz kind of got shafted storywise. It's still pretty good but this book leans towards more sci-fi urban fantasy than typical romance like most of the other books.

I still really enjoyed the book and like the forward movement to the overall storyline. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Singh has really settled into her Psy-Changeling world. This book was almost hypnotic in it's calm, reassuring pace. It left me feeling like I'd come home again.

She touched on so many of the main characters we'd met previously--updating us on their life statuses. No longer needing a fast-paced suspense-driven plot, her Psy-Changeling books are becoming gratifyingly epic instead.

I always welcome a return to the SnowDancer/DarkRiver territories, and this book was no exception. Top-notch storytelling from a fantastic author. Can't be beat!

This book is more a continuation of the relationship between Hawke and Sienna, than a romance between two characters we really haven't met before. Since Hawke and Sienna are my favorite couple I did not feel gypped, but I can understand how others might.

It also spends a lot of words advancing the over-arching plot of Psy/Alliance/Netmind/Council/war.

Savor the goodness that is the Psy-Changeling series. I have to ration my reading of this series since there is only 1 published each year. The wait! (Sometimes it is beneficial to be behind)

This one falls in the middle; it's not my favorite nor is it my least favorite. I think the rating speaks for itself (the lowest rating I've given an entry in this series was a novella and I gave it a 3). This series is delicious and I savor each one.

I enjoyed both Adria and Riaz. I cheered for each of them individually and as a couple. This was a bit different since Riaz had already met his wolf's "mate." (Who was married and in love with someone else). I went back and forth thinking it sucked ass and I wasn't happy. Then thinking it was both neat and different that NS added this dynamic, making it about choice rather than fate. In the end, what I appreciated was both Adria and Riaz had to make a conscience decision to decide to be together. This was a welcome change from the fated mate trope.

I also enjoyed the continuation of previous couple's stories. More information on the war; the overall main plot-line for the series. The next book is setup at the end of this one as well. I have the PB edition and there were 2 deleted scenes at the end of this one. As always, looking forward the next:-)
