This is a re-release of Brockmann's Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series.
I read book 6 and 7 first and enjoyed it quite a bit. I was shocked to find that I hated these two.
"Frisco's Kid" was the better of the two story. It was actually okay. Problems I had with the story was that Mia was too perfect. She always knew what to do with Frisco's anger and resentments. She was always patient and perfect with him. She was perfect with Tasha. Even though she was a likable character, her perfection made her a bit boring and unbelievable. Also I think the side characters of Wes and Bobby actually switched personalities in this story as opposed to the personalities they had in Book 6 and 7.
I couldn't even finish "Everyday, Average Jones." It started out great. Then Melody got pregnant and became a raging, selfish witch. Her reasons for not giving Jones a try or even trying to work something out with him as the father of their child were so lame. Plus it's just wrong not to let someone know they have a child out there. I got to chapter five and couldn't stomach it anymore. I hated Melody's character so much that I wanted horrible things to happen to her. So I stopped wasting my time reading it because she didn't deserve a happily ever after in my book.
"Frisco's Kid" is an okay read if you are really into this series and wants to know what happens to everyone. I think "Everyday Average Jones" was a waste of time, which is sad because I liked Jones.
