Second book in a reall fun series. I literally would laugh out loud while I was reading this book. My husband actually told me not to read it in bed if I was going to be so loud...lol

I loved it.. It's not very often I can find a book that makes me giggle. This one did, plus in some part it had you wondering if the heroine would get out of trouble... The first book talked about the changing a bunch of single parents in Broken Heart and about Jessica and Patrick... This one follows Eva the town Librarian and Lorcan..
Can't wait to read Because your Vampire said so coming June 2008

2nd in series, but you don't have to read the first one to get it. I enjoyed it much more than the first one...probably b/c Eva is much different than Jessica (I think that's her name from the first one) Very good book!

**** Another great book from Bardsley. Almost as good as I'm a Vampire That's Why. Must read if you love paranormal.

I personally did not enjoy this book. As I got to the middle I kept wishing for the book to hurry up and end cause I was really bored with it. I did not read the first book and maybe this is why I was bored with this one. The characters didn't really develop for me. Eva did a little bit, but Lorcan's character was just kind of blah and he was so depressed all the time. At times I would forget that he was even part of the story. Then there is a part where Eva argues with an enemy (won't spoil) but that was kind of un-exciting as well. I was really left with wanting more spark, more romance, more something! I didn't care for the made up words, the Gaelic speak, and some of the thrown in Mythology.
And a good thing to know, is there is a little glossary at the back of the book that explains what the Gaelic words mean, what the made up words mean and some explanation of Vampire lore etc. That would have been helpful to know before I read the whole book. Found it after I finished this book. So overall, thumbs down.

This is a cute series!! I read it in a day. If you are looking for something light and entertaining, this is the series for you. It doesnt follow the characters from the first book, but rather follows all the characters and each gets their own story. I cant wait to read more!

Dont Talk Back To Your Vampire
Michelle Bardsley
3 out of 5

The first in this series was good, this one just fell flat.

Broken Heart, Oklahoma is still getting back on its feet after the Consortium came to town and turned eleven single mothers into vampires. This story is told by town librarian Eva. Now all she has to do is fight off the Wraiths and find out how to get Lorcan, the twin brother of Patrick, from the first book, to see her in a whole new way.

The only thing that kept me reading was very interesting magical lore that is interwoven periodically through this story.

Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire, is a quick and entertaining read. The main character is very quirky and hilarious. All in all it was a great read, and had some new aspects of a vampire.

The first book in this series had me laughing. This one was not as humorous. It was not without humor, but did not invoke the laughter the one previous had. It however, still grabbed my attention. It was a good and fast read and fit in wonderfully with the first book. There were a couple of loose ends that were not tied up so I suspect that was a set up for the next in this series. One I can't wait to read.

It was ok. A little too breezy and neat for my tastes, but entertaining. It's mind candy.

A very good book, I highly recommend to read. The characters are witty and quite funny.
It draws you in from beginning to end. The only thing I have to say on the downside is
in the beginning of the book she starts out with Eva and Lorcan having a dream connection
with each other. Towards the middle and end of the book that story line is dropped and
not really mentioned again. Also I wish Eva had a little more spunk instead of letting people run all over her. A very very good read though, can't wait for the next book.

This book was really good, if a little predictable. The characters were not as three dimensional as I'd like, which is why I give it four stars instead of five. It is the second book in the Broken Heart Oklahoma series. The writing was a little too flowery and as I previously mentioned the plot a little too predicable. There were many things going on in the book. One thing I can say for the author is that she really does her research. I'd recommend reading this book.

I liked this second book in the Broken Heart Vampires series a bit more than I liked the first for some reason. I will go on to read the next book in the series eventually. I think there are about 5 or 6 books in this series now.

I think I liked this book more that the first one because:

a) The backstory had already been set in book 1, so there wasn't so much bouncing around between the current story and why/how the characters got to where they were today
b) The main female character (Eva LeRoy) is a self-taught librarian and she and her daughter use some fabulous words. It stretched my vocabulary!! (I LOVE words)
c) I've bought into the premise of Broken Heart, Oklahoma so now I can just settle in for the ride.
d) I like the love story between Lorcan and Eva. It wasn't as angst ridden as the first book.

From the back.....
Ever since a master vampire became possessed and bit a bunch of parents, the town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma, has catered to those of us who don't rise until sunset- even if ther means PTA meetings at midnight.
As for me, Eva LeRoy, town librarian and single mother to a teenage daughter, I'm pretty much used to being "vampified." You can't beat the great side effects: no crow's-feet or cellulite!

This is a very funny book! Couldn't put it down. Great read, I would definitely recommend it!

I was really looking forward to reading Lorcan's story after first book. I found this disappointing. Enjoyed the read but didn't fall in love with any of the characters.

Definitely not the best book in the series. I had such high hopes for Eva and Lorcan's story from reading the other books. I was sorely disappointed. It was a really slow book up until half-way through.

Eva just didn't do it for me. I have a hard time believing anyone is that forgiving. In fact, she was kind of pathetic and a pushover. Her losing her family home and library was anti-climatic. It didn't seem like she wanted to fight for it so I didn't care about it either. I keep wanting something to happen to light a fire under her butt.

Lorcan was the same throughout the whole book. He was a one-man pity party.

Jessica breath some life into the book but other than that, it was slightly boring. Tamara, the daughter, was cool. I liked the back story of Eva's mother and also Tamara's father.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I think I read in another review that the book fell flat. I think flat is a good description for the story.

The other books from the series are so much better.

I enjoyed the concept of the series theme. My problem is with the different tastes a person has in style. For those who like shows like Married with Children, you will enjoy this series. If you didn't like the tv show, you won't like this series.
The characters were too rude, too crude.
I didn't feel it was believable; I know this is a fiction, but there has to be a sense of reality in it. A person would not see a monster destroy a building and then refuse to leave one next door to it, that was even in a less stable shape.
Plus, no sex unless you wanted to be stuck with that individual for 100 years? That was the deciding factor in not liking the book.
