Beatrix takes a backseat in this book to the animals. The chapters where the animals are interacting with each other seemed to drag on and on for me. I skipped a lot of the paragraphs in the animal chapters. This book could have been great with more people interaction. Overall the series is very good.

Love this series. Beatrix is such a likeable person. I love the way the animal stories are interwoven with the mystery story !
