As appalling as corporate politics is seen in the headlines these days, this powerful novel of deceit and murder gives a dense overview which is even worse. The author expertly depicts the favored corporate executives' means to the desired end: "takeover" i.e. downgrade and offload employee overhead and take the profits to the offshore bank account. Now, someone wants to turn the "game" around by destroying the chief executives of the nation's largest corporations, in gruesome but successful assassinations, and taking the profit from the CEO's fall via the stock market manipulations. The FBI sends a veteran and lower level special agent to find the murderer - or murderers? He enlists his beautiful assistant, Agent Angela White, an ambitious young woman, in a low budget quest which escalates from discovering a lone single mother as assassin to finding the head person who is hiring the assassins carrying out the multiple murders. The profit payoff will surprise you in the end.
