Thrilling kidnap story with a twist. A hard working widow's eleven year old son is kidnapped, she hands over the ransom money and then..she is accused of murder! Its all part of a bigger plan. Great story, new twist on an old theme.

"....a single mother's terrifying fight...will send chills up your spine." by Steve Berry
(on front cover)

I picked up this book to have a fast read...and kidnappings are always an interesting read for me. I read half the book in a few hours, and it had me gripping my seat the whole time.

Kate was at her son's Little League game when in an instant, after winning the game and rewarding himself with ice cream, Tommy is snatched by an evil man who is an ex-Army
Captain. Her life collapses, and as she is framed for a murder, and her son's kidnapping, Kate struggles to stay sane (and out of jail) to find her son. Many twists and turns......a real good book.

Great suspense as the frantic mother searches for her son who was taken - but by whom and for what purpose? Not the usual kidnapping; some violence. Lots of action and interesting characters.

WOW this is the first I've read by Chris Jordan and boy did it take me on a roller coaster ride of suspense and horror. It's told in the first person from two points of view, the victim and the kidnapper. The victim is Catherine Bickford, a widowed suburban mom with an 11 year old son. Tommy is kidnapped by Steven Cutter for unknown purposes. Kate is terrorized beyond measure and then framed for murder. While she is fighting for her freedom, she is also working like crazy to find Tommy.

It's always interesting to see things from the bad guys perspective so you know why they are doing what they are doing. But all you get here is what he's doing not the end game. You feel sorry for Steven because he's doing the very wrong thing for the right reason but he's still a murderer and a terrorist.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It wasn't your usual kidnapping story but something that kept you guessing and turning pages in anticipation and fear. I really liked Randall Shane and hope he appears in Chris Jordan's other books. He's an amazing character with a gigantic heart and personality to spare.
