Very disappointing. I was expecting a "story" but this book was a history lesson with no story of the people.

A little dry in the reading of the book, but the amount of information and details surrounding the development of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the surrounding area is incredible. The Prestons take a deep dive into the history of the Moghul ruling class and thier lifestyle. great insights are provided into everything from daily life to intimate relationships. If you're into history, this is a great book.
