This book was great!!! It stepped away from Jaques' regular plot style and takes you through the journey of a powerful young otter 'Tagg'. Tagg is a Taggerung, a legendary otter of incredible strength and and the ability to track down anything and fight everything. Tagg's adopted father, the chief of a Juskazan tribe, has trained Tagg to be just like him, only he's not. When Sawney asks Tagg to kill a helpless animal, Tagg has enough. He sets out to find where he really belongs, learning an awful secret on the way. Only one problem: Sawney has sent a group of trackers to bring back the head of the Taggerung.

Another great tale from the Redwall series

From Publishers Weekly
Redwall lovers, rejoice! The epic continues with Taggerung, the 14th book in Brian Jacques's popular series. An otter born in Redwall Abbey is kidnapped by members of an opposing clan who believe he is destined to be a great Taggerung, or warrior hero; Tagg later rebels against his adoptive tribe and goes in search of his true home.

"Redwall is all about war ...and food!" exclaimed by young son excitedly. The Redwall books appeal to a wide audience- from my young son to my college-aged daughter. The books offer charming protaganists as well as action and homey comfort, which tug at the heart strings of all readers, longing for a book to bring satisfaction once more.
