Terrific book -- much grittier and more complex than Norma Fox Mazer's Taking Terri Mueller, which also deals with non-custodial kidnapping. Brooke is smart, direct, and honest, and she never stops seeming like a typical teenager even when faced with a very atypical situation.
I loved this book!
