This was a pretty good book. Even though Syndelle is Angelini, there is something different about her. This difference is the main focus of the story and the driving factor for a lot of the action and mystery. Syndelle was a very likable character. She was smart, strong, and loyal and knew when to compromise. Her mates, Rafael and Brann, were secondary characters, IMO. I don't think Brann nor Rafael were developed enough, even though we got a glimpse of some of Rafael's past. The romance between the three was OK, but it was more lust, than love. It was the action and mystery that kept this story going for me.
Another good read. The heroine is Skye's sister [heroine of the previous book:]. Through her, Skye learns about her family and how she became separated from them and how to understand manage what it means to be Angelini. She finds her mates as well [no surprise there:] - like Skye one of them is a human, the other is a very powerful vampire. The sexual dynamics are very different than the first book. All three mates are aware of the supernatural world and two of them are magic users [the third has the capability but is untrained:].
Like the previous book, murders and assaults abound and playing politics takes on a whole new meaning when you are talking about the vampire world. Contains menage sex and m/m contact.
The Angelini series:
Skye's Trail
Syndelle's Possession
Mystic's Run..
