Among the best Vietnam war fiction. For admirers of If I Die in a Combat Zone, or Going After Cacciato (both by Tim O'Brien), or Gustav Hasford's The Short-Timers. Anderson's prose is deadly hard stuff, the textual equivalent of a LRRP's thousand-yard-stare. A survivor's unapologetic tale, to be sure.
Well written, Harsh reality, Have a strong stomach
Reflecting the author's own experiences, the characters in this graphic, grippingly authentic first novel are the combat-tested soldiers of the Special Forces in Vietnam.
This book is chilling and authentic. A Green Beret finds life as a civilian bitter
One of the best Vietnam books. Tells it like it rally was.
Very accurate and interesting account of happenings in Vietnam. Told in a very attention grabbing way.
