Luthwin is a 12 year old boy in England about 700 AD. The Brits and Saxons are not yet Christians. They worship about 600 idols. While being held over the winter on a journey home Luthwin learns from the Celts about the true God of Heaven although he knows little he chooses to trust God into battle. These people live in walled cities, very primitively. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is very liberating for them. Their lives have been fight wars constantly but the Celtic Christians are kind which greatly impresses Luthwin.
